Hello
My name is Quynh! Pronounced like Quinn. Easy, right? :)
In Vietnamese you would pronounce it (Gwing) with a downward reflection, but no need to worry about that. I love my Vietnamese name, and I love how I have grown up with being called Quinn all my life. It just goes to show how we learn to adapt in our environment, while still keeping true to our roots and culture - hence, I will never legally change my name to Quinn!
2007-2011: I attended the University of New Mexico - College of Nursing school and received my Bachelor Degree in the Science of Nursing.
June 2011: I passed my NCLEX and became a Registered Nurse (woohoo!).
September 2011-September 2013: I worked as an Adult Telemetry nurse, precepted, relief charge, and became a Clinical Practice Leader (basically a unit nurse who helps role out education).
September 2013 - current: I work as a Pediatric ICU nurse where I see the sickest of patients, get the greatest reward, and sometimes (or most times) engage in high stress situations. But don't worry, I have great support and I work part-time nights to ease the burden of stress.
March 2019- current: I work as a Charge Nurse on the PICU. I am constantly engaging in communications between staff members, management, doctors, multidisciplinary team members. And my communication skills must be effective, evidence based, clear, and most importantly, kind. I thrive in this leadership role, and I love my work.
September 2023: (September seems to be a trending month for me...) I met a journalist immediately after I discovered "Freelance Nurse Writing". And I felt the stars align in my life.
Sometime later in September 2023: I created Write with Quynh, my freelance writing business!
And here we are!
My business goals: marry my writing skills with my nursing skills. Then find great fulfillment in creating a product or service that will meet my client's needs.
